6’ Side-by-Side Cedar Fence Install

This residential project involved replacing an old fence with a durable, 6’ tall side-by-side cedar fence in Cedar Hill. The homeowner wanted a natural cedar finish that matched the existing picket direction while providing privacy and enhancing curb appeal.

The project included demo and haul-off of the old fence. Installation consisted of setting 2-3/8” metal posts (9’ long, .065 gauge) in 80 lb bags of concrete, supporting 3x 2x4 PT pine horizontal rails. We installed 5.5” wide cedar pickets aligned with the existing fence pattern for a seamless look. Posts were set 2’-2.5’ deep to ensure long-term stability.

Despite coordinating the demo and careful installation around landscaping, the project went smoothly. The homeowner was very pleased with the secure construction and the natural cedar finish, resulting in a fence that is both functional and visually appealing.
