The fence looks great and the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. 7/13/26: I just signed the proposal to have a fence built! Communication has been great, and Gabriel has been very patient with me changing my mind several times. I can’t wait to see the finished product. Update 8/24/26: The fence is now installed, and it looks great. However, the communication and scheduling became inconsistent after I paid the 50% deposit. Initially, Top Rail had the wrong phone number listed, so I thought they were ignoring my quote requests. Once we sorted that out, communication improved. Gabriel visited several times to remeasure because we were unsure about the fence placement, and he was always patient and accommodating. During that period, he also repeatedly asked me to update my original review. After we finalized the project, paid the deposit, and I updated my review, communication dropped off significantly. I was originally told the entire process, including permitting, would take approximately three to four weeks. Here is what followed: July 24: I requested an update and was told we should be good for the following week. July 30: I followed up again and was told zoning and finance had approved the project and they were waiting on the building permit. August 3: I requested another update but received no response. August 10: I was told the permit was approved and materials would arrive Wednesday. I explained that Wednesday did not work well with my work schedule, asked when I needed to be present, and suggested Tuesday, August 18. I received no response. August 12: I followed up to ask whether August 18 would work but received no response. August 13: I asked Gabriel to call me, but he did not. When I called him, I learned that someone was already about 20 minutes away from delivering the materials. He asked whether installation could begin Saturday. I said absolutely, and he said he would confirm—but I never received confirmation. August 15: At approximately 10:30 a.m., I texted to ask whether it was safe to assume installation would not begin that day. I received no response. I also explained that Monday did not work because I could not be home, but Tuesday would work. Again, no response. August 17: I texted asking for a phone call to my husband since he was home- He came by the house and said workers would be out about 10:30am. Instead, the crew arrived at approximately 4:30 p.m. and began digging the post holes. August 18: The same two workers arrived around 9:30 a.m., left at 1:00 p.m., and returned after 4:00 p.m. I eventually realized they were avoiding the hottest part of the day, which was completely understandable, but neither the crew nor Gabriel communicated the schedule to us. August 19: The fence was completed. I asked about being charged for 3 concrete cuts via text which was never addressed. I see two cuts, but at this point I am just glad to have the fence completed. My senior dog can finally have a safe space to potty without having to be harnessed several times a day. A sunroom window was accidentally broken during installation, but Gabriel quickly developed a plan to have it repaired. August 20: Gabriel had the glass replaced, matched the tint on the original window, and reinstalled it. He also replaced several pickets along the fence line I share with my neighbor, which was very kind and appreciated. Overall, I am very happy with the finished fence and appreciate how quickly Gabriel handled the broken window. The final product looks great. My main frustration was the lack of clear communication about the permit status, material delivery, and installation schedule. If communication and scheduling are not major concerns for you, Top Rail may be a good choice based on the quality of the finished work.

We had a great experience with our fence installation. Rodney and his coworker removed the old fence and installed the new one really quickly and it looks great. Even though we had what I would call a smaller job, we were treated as if our job was very important to them. Gabe was prompt to get out for an estimate, and Chris answered a voice message quickly, too. The price was certainly reasonable. Would recommend this company. The Odom's February 2026

“Top Rail Fence” was a great decision. Gabriel came to the house and explained the cost and process of installing the fence. I did get other estimates, higher and lower. Gabriel made “Top Rail Fence” the way to go. Kam and Ashton installed the fence. They showed me what they were doing and how long it would take. They were impressive from start to finish. The fence is solid and level! I’m 100% satisfied with “Top Rail Fence”! Dusty now gets to roam the yard free!

My husband called the company for a free quote and when we got a cheaper quote for the sides of our fence, plus a gate, we knew we couldn't say no. Gabriel was patient with us, especially when we had to reschedule the install once. Rodney and his team were so quick and efficient with their work. I thought it would take 3 days with how much needed to be done but it took 2 days and they did such an amazing job. I highly recommend if you want a good quote and quality work!

The crew worked from early in the morning to late in the evening when it was hot!! They were courteous and professional, and answered any questions I had. I was definitely happy with the finished product and the company was quick to follow up with me once the job was completed.

Top Rail Fence did an amazing job completing our needs! The staff was very professional and friendly and our fence was completed in two days. They did an awesome job!

Needed the front my fence removed to get a shed in. Called Gabriel he did not hesitate to come and remove it. He did it fast and efficiently and had his guys come out and put it back up. Good honest work.

A 5 star.rating is too low for the quality of work and professionalism exhibited by Gabriel, Rodney and team. I give them a 10+. Gabriel took command of the whole process getting HOA approval, North Charleston approval, ordering the material and ensuring delivery. Rodney gave 100% effort overseeing the workmanship and ensuring the best of the best crew were assigned to the project. I highly recommend using their services.

I appreciate the great job that Gabriel and the workers did on my new fence. I love it! Gabriel is very knowledgeable and gave me advice on selecting the best products for staining the fence.
